Recently, Clariant and its process partner Lummus signed an important contract with Fujian Meide to provide catofin technology and catalyst for its new * * * propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Fuzhou, China. Fujian Meide phase I PDH plant has been put into operation in its Fuzhou plant. At present, it is building one of the largest PDH plants in the world. The plant uses catofin process and catalyst, with an annual output of 900000 tons of special propylene for further production of polypropylene. The new PDH unit is planned to be put into operation in 2023.

Just as our heating material (HGM), combined with Loomis * * * process technology, it has reduced the energy consumption of catofin process by one third and become a low-carbon technology for propylene production."

More than 50% of these units are located in China.
